Network Engineer (Linux, AWS, Automation, Networking)

Location: Englewood, CO (Hybrid: Remote with occasional on-site support)
Shift Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, On-call rotation (1 out of every 10 days, 24 hours)



Must-Have Skills:

Linux Systems: In-depth familiarity with Linux operating systems and command line operations. Must be able to troubleshoot and access logs through the terminal.
Networking Knowledge: Experience with routers, switches, and networking concepts.
Automation Skills: Ability to automate processes and tasks, especially within Linux environments.
Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting (Python is a plus, but any scripting experience is acceptable).
Troubleshooting Expertise: Ability to diagnose issues by reviewing logs, metrics, and other system alerts, and work with field technicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Linux System Support: Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux servers and devices, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts to automate network checks, log collection, and issue remediation. Experience with APIs is a plus.
On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotation (one 24-hour shift every 10 days). Troubleshoot late-night device issues by collaborating with field technicians and providing escalation support.
Networking: Ensure devices are properly configured and integrated into the network, manage configurations, and ensure smooth operations across the infrastructure.
Device Troubleshooting: Access devices remotely and troubleshoot issues with field techs. Run diagnostics, check logs, and help deploy solutions in real-time.
Monitoring and Reporting: Use tools like Prometheus and Grafana for system monitoring and logging. Ability to write Prometheus queries and visualize data in Grafana is a strong plus.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have for container orchestration, though not a core requirement).
Prometheus & Grafana Experience: Familiarity with writing queries for Prometheus and creating dashboards in Grafana to visualize logs and metrics.
Knowledge of Network Configuration: Experience working with network devices such as routers, switches, and other networking hardware.
API Experience: Familiarity with working with APIs to help automate and troubleshoot.
Device Integration Experience: Understanding of how to integrate and troubleshoot thousands of devices in a networked environment.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Certifications: Any certifications related to Linux, Networking, or Automation (CCNA, CompTIA Linux+, etc.) are a plus but not required.
Experience:1-3 years of hands-on experience with Linux system administration.
Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS is a plus.
Experience with automation tools or scripting languages (Python preferred).


Work Environment:Remote work with periodic on-site support as needed.
Ability to respond quickly during the on-call shift, including troubleshooting network and server issues that arise during off-hours.
