for cerfications listed: Wastewater Collection System Operation
Class 4: $4,000 Wastewater Collection System Operation Class 3:
$3,000 Wastewater Collection System Operation Class 2: $2,000
Wastewater Collection System Operation Class 1: $500 This position
will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon the
candidate's qualifications: Environmental Sampling Field Technician
($27.66 - $38.58 Hourly ) Performs technical in-office and
fieldwork in support of Metro's regulatory, annual charge, special
project sampling programs and Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP)
implementation. Works under the direction of the Environmental
Sampling Supervisor. Environmental Sampling Field Specialist
($32.26 - $45.00 Hourly ) Performs technical in-office and
fieldwork in support of Metro's regulatory, annual charge, special
project sampling programs, and Industrial Pretreatment Program
(IPP) implementation. This position reports to the Environmental
Sampling Supervisor. Qualifications: Environmental Sampling Field
Technician: Minimum Qualifications: -Graduation from High School
and either one year of college-level water quality or
science-related coursework. -Six months experience with industrial
pretreatment sampling, wastewater sampling, water sampling,
experience as a collection systems technician operator, or
experience working in a laboratory environment. -Good written and
verbal communication skills and the ability to establish and
maintain good working relationships. -Valid Driver's License.
Desired Qualifications: -Associate degree with major coursework in
chemistry, biology, environmental science, water quality
management, or a related field. -Demonstrated interpersonal and
communications skills sufficient to interact effectively in a
team-based environment. -Strong work ethic with proven success
operating autonomously supporting high safety standards/practices.
Equivalency Equivalency equals one year of directly related
professional experience for every year of education not completed.
The stated experience requirement is in addition to any experience
used to meet the education equivalency. Environmental Sampling
Field Specialist Minimum Qualifications -Graduation from High
School and one (1) year of college-level water quality or
science-related coursework. -Two (2) years of direct knowledge and
experience collecting wastewater samples per 40 CFR part 136. -Must
have completed or be able to complete the TPC Training Flow
Measurement course within 60 days of hire. -Must have a valid
Collection System Operator Certification Class II from the State of
Colorado. -Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task in a
high-activity work environment. -Must have a working knowledge and
understanding of all different types of flumes. -Must correctly
identify, measure, and read all types of flumes. -Good written and
verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team
environment, and the ability to establish and maintain good working
relationships. -Must be willing to mentor technician-level
employees. -Valid Colorado Driver's License. Desired Qualifications
