  • Perform under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist and in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assist the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patient's progress and response to treatment.
  • Teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical and sensory-integrative function.
  • Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing care to the patient in order to promote coordination of care.
  • Visually and aurally observe and assess the patient.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement measures.A few must-haves for Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA):
    • Current licensure as a -Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) -in the start of -Colorado.
    • Minimum of two (2) -years of certified -occupational therapy assistant -experience, ideally in home healthcare
    • CPR Certification (demonstration course required)
    • Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
