Join us in powering a better world with inertial fusion!As a Laser Computational Physicist, you will apply your skills to bring inexhaustible, carbon-free, and commercially viable inertial fusion energy through rigorous scientific investigation and innovative engineering. You will work with Xcimer and its scientific partners developing cutting-edge computational modeling tools for the interaction of high-intensity laser beams with fusion plasmas. You will be an integral part of our team working on the design and optimization of unprecedented, multi-megajoule-scale, inertial fusion targets. • M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics and Computer Science or related fields.
• Deep experience in laser plasma physics with long pulses required.
• Proficiency with C++ and high-performance computing required.
• Experience with nonlinear laser plasma interaction an advantage.
• Experience with finite element method an advantage.
• Familiarity with deep UV and excimer laser systems.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This position involves access to technology that is subject to U.S. export controls and therefore requires being approved for all export control authorizations required by law.$150,000 - $200,000 a yearCandidates may be considered for other positions at Xcimer Energy, and our actual base salary will be determined on an individual basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
