Job Description:

- Room patients and perform necessary procedures prior to provider seeing patient including checking vitals, obtaining past medical history, reconciling medications, and reviewing drug allergies.

Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.

- Report to the provider accurate information regarding the visit and update information correctly in the electronic health record.

- Enter orders on behalf of the provider including prescriptions, laboratory, radiology, and referrals.

- Complete diagnostic testing and procedures including breathing evaluations, skin testing, and point of care testing. Ensure appropriate charges are entered for specific procedure type and documentation is complete in the electronic health record.

- Schedule follow up appointments as indicated by the provider and assist with the check out process for each patient.

- Assist with prior authorizations, medication refills, and various other administrative duties including scanning, faxing, and corresponding with other specialists or providers involved in patient's care plan.

- Communicate with patients daily via phone and portal messages to provide updates on results, upcoming appointments, or other information provided by the provider to be relayed to the patients

- Perform all injection types, both intramuscular and subcutaneously, and closely follow dosing instructions provided.

- Work collaboratively with other members of the clinical team including medical assistants, front desk members, and providers. Provider assignment may vary based on volume and staffing needs. Medical assistants should feel comfortable and willing to work with any of the providers on a day-to-day basis.

- Cleaning/stocking of rooms

- Complete opening and closing duties




- Be knowledgeable and willing to explain to details of the appointment include complicated medical conditions, drug therapy options, supplements, testing options, and potential treatments as recommended by the provider.

- Act as an extension of the provider to answer any questions or concerns patient may have following the visit regarding any of the topics addressed during the visit.

- Complete procedures in office ordered by provider including appropriate documentation and charging.

- Complete tasks specific to patient's location

- Assist other departments as needed with basic clinical triage or tasks as instructed by supervisor

- Complete regular trainings to ensure up to date protocols are being implemented.

- Attend regular team meetings to discuss day to day needs and questions of the clinic.


* Immunizations, phlebotomy (preferred), skin testing, vital assessments, and pulmonary function testing.
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong organization skills
* Knowledgeable with electronic medical record documentation and charging
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to transcribe using correct medical terminology, standard abbreviations, and professional and grammatically correct language.
* Ability to proof-read and correct medical transcription
* Able to work as a team
* Knowledge of professional customer service practices
* Ability to accurately compile data and perform detailed work
* Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
* Ability to multi-task
* Ability to maintain regular attendance
* Practice professional verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.06 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
