TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Denver, Colorado, 80218 Pay Information $1,867 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN license Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Proficiency in Meditech, tracheostomy, and ostomy care Job Description: - Join our 18-bed medical-surgical unit, where your skills and experience will contribute to delivering high-quality patient care. - Work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment that's committed to achieving positive patient outcomes. - Handle a patient ratio of 5:1, supported by day and night shift staff including a Charge RN and Patient Care Technician (PCT). - Demonstrate expertise with equipment such as Philips Monitors, Alaris Pumps, and various assessment tools. - Engage in procedures commonly performed in the unit, including minimally invasive surgeries, colectomy, ostomy creation and takedown, and management of artificial airways. - Provide care for patients with a variety of conditions like CHF, COPD, cellulitis, sepsis, DKA, and PNA. - Conduct bedside reports and actively participate in purposeful hourly rounding, focusing on patient needs and safety. - Maintain clear and consistent communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team using established communication protocols. - Perform and document patient assessments, manage orders, and collaborate closely with other nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care. - Adhere to high standards of behavior, embodying organizational values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. - Be proficient in central line care, restraint protocols, and other unit-specific procedures. - Participate in unit routines, including shift huddles and interdisciplinary rounds, to stay informed and provide holistic patient care. - Ensure documentation is accurate and timely, utilizing the Meditech system for real-time updates and order acknowledgments.
