VP of Engineering @ TiltTilt is looking for a VP of Engineering
to join our team and help us scale our business by driving
measurable outcomes in engineering execution, team performance, and
organizational scalability. You will translate strategic priorities
into operational success, ensuring engineering delivers secure,
scalable, and high-performing solutions. Partnering closely with
the CTO, you will lead efforts to align engineering capabilities
with business goals to drive innovation and achieve customer
satisfaction. This position is a full-time role reporting to our
CTO. We want you to be successful here at Tilt! Below is a
description of your role and responsibilities.Roles &
Responsibilities
- Leading the implementation of scalable and performant
architectures, keeping tech debt to manageable levels and improving
system throughput.
- Developing and mentoring Engineering Managers and Staff
Engineers to own key technical decisions, fostering accountability
and alignment across teams.
- Ensuring systems maintain at least 99.9% uptime and meet
defined performance SLAs, with a goal of improving reliability over
time.
- Establishing clear technical goals for engineering leaders,
ensuring progress toward innovation and scalability.
- Collaborating with Engineering Managers to create a consistent
approach to technical design reviews and mentorship, improving
technical standards across the organization.
- Driving cross-team initiatives to adopt best practices in
coding, testing, and operational excellence, leading to managing
defects to acceptable levels.
- Encouraging Staff Engineers to lead technical deep dives,
workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions, elevating the technical
expertise of the entire team.
- Collaborating with security to meet compliance and regulatory
requirements, maintaining certifications like SOC 2 with no major
audit findings.
- Building a high-performing team with engagement scores trending
above 80+, and contribute to maintaining regrettable retention of
top talent above 95%.
- Developing engineering leaders to own and deliver on key
objectives in alignment to long term goals, ensuring successful
delivery of engineering initiatives are driven independently by
cross-functional empowered teams.
- Collaborating with People & Culture to enhance the career
progression framework by establishing clear and proactive tools
that empower individuals to self-assess their growth areas, align
with their managers on developmental goals, and build competencies
effectively.
- Ensuring all team members have a clear understanding of their
responsibilities and accountabilities, fostering transparency and
alignment across roles.
- Aligning with Product and Design to deliver on customer-focused
roadmaps, achieving at least 85% successful completion of quarterly
priorities.
- Partnering with Sales and Customer Success to reduce priority-1
customer-reported issues and maintain low post-launch defect
rates.
- Facilitating seamless cross-team communication, reducing
misaligned or delayed initiatives.You're a great fit if
- You have B2B SaaS experience at a Series B scaleup or
equivalent.
- You have demonstrated experience driving integrations and
collaborating with partners, vendors, platforms, or ecosystems to
deliver seamless solutions.
- You have the proven ability to scale engineering teams from 30
to 50+ while delivering consistent business outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience managing nearshore and contract staff
to effectively augment core teams while maintaining quality and
accountability.
- Track record of leading organizations to measurable
improvements in engineering efficiency, reliability, and
security.
- Experience building high-performing teams with clear
accountability and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience in HRTech, FinTech or HealthTech is a plus.
- You have high levels of empathy and can connect deeply with
Tilt's mission.

projected annual salary range is $200,000 - $250,000 USD plus stock
options (ISOs), because we believe everyone should have some stake
in our business. We are people-first and we truly care about our
