At Urban Sky we strive to create a team culture grounded in candor, inclusion, respect and empowerment.We aim to build the next chapter of stratospheric history in Denver and are seeking self-starting, open-minded, and hard-working team members.About The Role:Urban Sky is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Denver, CO. This role is pivotal in sourcing and auditing suppliers, monitoring and resolving quality issues, and implementing strategies to boost supplier performance to support production and customer satisfaction. This position requires proactive, on-site engagements and the capacity to respond swiftly and calmly to problems related to component supply issues.We require our suppliers (from electronics to soft goods) to provide consistent and high-quality goods at increasingly ambitious volumes. We are actively looking for candidates who possess comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools and have unrelenting motivation to find and enable suppliers for success.This is a technical position that requires practical experience in multiple areas of specialty from soft goods to electronics to additive manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of these products with the desire and capability to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas.Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical point of contact, solving emergent challenges at suppliers and mitigating risk to the manufacturing system by addressing high-impact manufacturing and quality challenges.
  • Identify, audit and onboard new suppliers; perform surveillance and diagnostic audits on incumbent suppliers.
  • Conduct thorough audits and periodic reviews of supplier operations to ensure compliance with Urban Sky standards.
  • Actively monitor, analyze, and resolve supplier quality issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Develop and sustain strong, productive relationships with suppliers to enhance communication and collaboration.
  • Implement supply chain strategies, contribute to process improvements, and participate in special projects to optimize operations.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics.
  • Develop procurement strategies that optimize cost, lead time, and quality for each component.Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
  • Experience with manufacturing, supply chain, or business projects.
  • Successful track record within Purchasing.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally to pick up and deliver parts as needed.
  • Valid driver's license mandatory.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, capable of interacting effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks.
  • World class supplier relationship skills.Nice-to-Haves/Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to identify possible replacements for technical components.
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to make presentations to suppliers, team members, and management.
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations.
  • Strategic sourcing, retail or supply-chain backgrounds could all be considered relevant to this environment.
  • Transformation exposure would be a distinct advantage.Requirements:
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be located near Denver, CO.Benefits:
  • Salary $80,000 - $115,000 per year.
