SummaryThe Technologist II is responsible for performing standard
as well as more complicated and complex EEG recordings, is able to
monitor additional electrophysiological phenomena by means of
appropriate techniques and instrumentation, may assist in the
training and teaching of END Students or END I Technicians and may
participate in research studiesEssential Functions:
- Performs routine and complex EEG recordings in the adult and
pediatric EMU. A technologist at this level should demonstrate a
working knowledge on the complexities of EEG equipment and how it
pertains to hospital networks as well as the best parameters to be
used during recording EEG that will provide the most accurate
information. (20%)
- Demonstrate proficiency in the standard department workflow in
EPIC as well as the skills necessary to complete modification of
orders, rescheduling and all functions in EPIC required to maintain
Snapboard, scheduling and other duties as assigned. (20%)
- Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining daily inter-personal
relationships and communication with clinical team regarding
relevant patient information, patient care and scheduling.

- Keep equipment in clean operating condition. Perform
maintenance and minor repair of laboratory equipment and report
need for major repairs. (10%)
- Complete daily work flow tasks in EPIC, W-Ren folder,
Neuro-productivity (10%)
- Participate in conferences, technical meetings, and other
educational activities. (10%)
- Complete annual Denver Health cornerstone training, participate
in annual department competency, remain current in all relevant
department competencies, maintain BLS certification, and follow
Denver Health flu shot policy. (10%)
- Assist END Supervisor in program development and laboratory
organization. (10%)Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.Work Experience:
- 1-3 years experience as an END I required.Licenses:
- Certification by the American Board of Registration of
Electroencephalographic Technologist (ABRET) or its equivalent
required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association or
Red Cross required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Is able to utilize ACNS guidelines and critical thinking skills
to obtain a superior quality EEG recording. Independent judgement
and initiative a must
- Employee has completed and met their clinical competency
standards
- Ensures all duties, responsibilities and competencies are
conducted in a manner that is effective and appropriate to
patients/clients to who care/service is being provided.
- Demonstrates knowledge and applicability of the principles of
growth and development over the life span, as well as demonstrating
the ability to assess data reflecting the patient's status and
interpreting appropriate cultural information of the patient(s) to
whom care/ services is being delivered/provided.
- Must be able to accurately describe the symptoms of
malfunctioning equipment and have a basic knowledge of the software
platforms and there functions used to record EEG
